The Halls
The Halls were born on Thursday 1st November. Their parents are PicknMix Hughes Hall with Paradise New Hall, both of whom have full NHC pedigrees for four generations. Every pup from this litter is entitled to use the "Grantabrugge" pedigree prefix, meaning that "Grantabrugge" can be placed before their new name (eg: Grantabrugge Fred), their pedigree information can be seen at the bottom of this page. All the pups are longhaired Syrian hamsters each carrying genes for black, cream and cinnamon colours. Around half of the litter will display the Whitebellied gene from their Cream Roan mother and around half will carry the rust colour gene (however it is impossible to tell which hamsters from this litter are carrying the gene for rust without breeding them).

The litter was expected to combine a maternal genotype of (ee p Whwh (To)to ll) with a paternal genotype of (aa b pp ToY ll) to produce pups who would all share (a e p ll) and would be a combination of cinnamon/cinntort (e a pp to(To/Y) ll), golden/goldtort(nothing extra, so just a e p ll), yellow(a e p To(To/Y) ll) and honey(a e pp To(To/Y) ll) , depending if they also got a second copy of 'p' and any To yellow genes. All females would get To from Hugh and half the litter would inherit whitebellied Wh from Halle.
What actually happened was that the litter contained a Cinnamon (originally thought to be Golden) and a Cinntort as predicted, a Ghost Honey (who looked like a Redeyed Cream Roan after the first month) and three other pups all expressing double ee - Hugh had been secretly split for Cream and his genotype was actually (aa b e pp ToY ll), so those four pups all inherited an e-mutation for Cream from both their father and their mother. The pups who got both ee and Whwh ended up as Cream Roans like Halle. The Cream pups were all initially a pale yellow colour with white cheek flashes as if they were an agouti colour (as expected), leading to much confusion at first when GH011205 and then GH011204 and much later, GH011206 changed colour to Cream Roan!
